My own thoughts and comments about life
So the first couple of regional races have taken place and both have been a very good success. On the 21st April it was the first summer league at Welwyn and with 231 racers registered it was the highest number we have had for a race in a long time, amazing really to think how well the races have been supported at the start of the season. The schools race had 286 registered racers and we still turned away at least another 30 on top of that! Both days at Welwyn we had excellent weather which certainly helped make for an excellent time.

It’s good to get some downtime after that race to re-charge the batteries after a very hectic season. Traditionally not much happens visibly in ERSA during the Winter months because so many people go in different directions. There are a lot of perceptions that exist about why some things happen or don’t happen, so thought I would jot down some things that take place. It’s like it for many races not just the regional ones.
First easy question to answer is no we are not paid to officiate, we do it for the love of the sport! Although when you are stood at the top of a slope and it is raining do sometimes wonder why I am there, but it is great when the sun is shining
